The best movie night snacks

When it comes to movie night snacks everyone has their favorite. There are lots and lots of options. There are people who prefer sweets, other salty ones and there are even those who prefer the combination of both.

Here at thecookingworld.com whenever it’s movie time, we do not give up on our snacks. But this is where our problem comes up! With so many possibilities, there is always a discussion at the time of choice. Do we go for the sweet ones, salty or even spicier? Or even make our own?

After a long time of discussion, and some kilos of snacks we decide to share with the world our favorite movie night snacks.

Let´s start with the sweet ones

Popcorn

First in our list is one of the most famous movie snacks, the popcorn. There are lots of varieties, with chocolate, butter, spices and much more. Enter into a movie theater could be an awesome experience on its own. Who doesn’t love the smell of freshly made popcorns? Or even the sound made by the corn when it explodes? Just because of this two factors popcorns save a spot in our best movie night snacks list!

In the comfort of our own home, this snack is easily one of our favorites but in the movie theaters, this small yellow ball could be a total nightmare. One of the worst things that can happen in movie theaters is to listen to people “shove their heads into the bucket of popcorn”. And even worst is when you see this small balls of corn turning into flying projectiles. At the end this snack as the ability to turn a movie theater in an authentic battlefield!

As a result, this snack is a great companion for movie night sessions at home!

M&M’s

The second place, go for the M&M’s the“colorful button-shaped chocolates”, each of which has the letter “m” printed on it. The original candy had a milk chocolate filling but today there are a huge amount of varieties. At thecookingworld headquarters, we always have a vast selection of M&M’s, ready to be eaten.

As we already said there a great variety of M&M’s and we like to combine this diversity with the different types of movies. Try to combine the crunchiness of the M&M’s Crispy with an explosive action movie, or even the dense and sweet Caramel M&M’s with a heartbreaking drama. This may sound crazy but you’ll only understand when you try it. (Please try these crazy combinations and let us know what you think in the comments).

Ice Cream

Third, in our list, is ice cream, certainly one of the most comfort foods you can have while watching a movie. The are many ways to enjoy ice cream, and we know that every person as a favorite one. As a result, we gather all thecookingworld team and had one of our biggest debates – what is the best way to eat ice cream?

After a few hours and a lot of ice cream liters, we can say that we have come to a conclusion. The ice cream cup is our winner! There are two main reasons for this choice. First of all, the ice cream cups are a great invention, because they are the solution for clean hands. You can take as long as you want, but you will not end up with liquid ice cream in your hands. All the ice cream stays in the cup, and in the end, you can drink it. The second reason is that you don’t need to share your ice cream with anyone. Is there anything better than eating a whole ice cream directly from the bowl while watching a movie? If there are we do not know! For this two reasons, ice cream is a must-have in our best movie night snacks list.

Candies

Candies, all kids love it and let’s be honest adults too. It is impossible to talk about movie snacks without talking about candies. There are probably millions of different candies in the world, and for this reason would be impossible to talk about all our favorites. But one thing is certain, Chupa Chups mini lollipops, skittles, gummy bears, jelly beans are some of our favorite candies. (Let us know if you want to see a list of our favorite candies).

Sugar Overdose

Finally is our sweet list, we have what we like to call “sugar overdose“. This combination is probably one of the best things you can eat while watching a movie. The Sugar Overdose is the combination of our favorite items, ice cream, popcorn, caramel, cookies and a lot more! You can’t die without trying this recipe, BUT PLEASE, enjoy in moderation or you will die sooner than expected because this combination is pure sugar! (Do you want this recipe? Let us know on the comments).

Let’s Bring Some Salt

Cheetos

The number one salty snack for movie night has to be Cheetos. This original snack is basically a cheese-flavored puffed cornmeal. But today there are many different flavors, but for us, the original one remains our favorite. This snack is so popular which led the Pastry Chef Claire Saffitz from bon appetit magazine to try to recreate a gourmet version. See the video here Gourmet Cheetos. The Cheetos are the perfect snack because it can be eaten anywhere, in movie theaters, at home, on the way, literary anywhere!!!

Nachos

Probably in almost every movie theater in the world is possible to find nachos. So it makes all the sense that they have a guaranteed place on our movie night snack list. The combination of flavors in nachos are perfect for a great home movie night.

Nachos in movie theaters? Probably a bad idea! A dark room and a bowl of nachos filled with cheese are probably not the best combination! So if you like nachos as we do, the perfect place to eat them is on a sofa while watching your favorite movie.

Potato chips

This salty snack is another one of our favorites. Like Cheetos, potato chips are another great snack for movie night. This snack can be seen as the adult version of the Cheetos. For this particular reason when it is time for a movie night we prefer to eat more exquisite potato chips! Our favorites are Tyrrell’s Crisps, Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar or the Tyrrell’s Crisps, Sweet Chili & Red Pepper, this brand has incredible potatoes and awesome combinations of flavors.

This snack also has the particularity of being easy to eat anywhere, so we had to have a place reserved on our movie night snacks list.

Peanuts

A bowl of nuts is a simple movie-watching snack that’s also a bit more filling than potato chips. In our salty snacks list, this is probably the diverse snack we have on it. There are hundreds of possible combinations on the market and if you want you can easily personalize this snack at home. We have amazing recipes for different nuts combinations, if you want to have these recipes, let us know on the comments.
