Precision is crucial if you want to achieve the same result every time. Scales are used in kitchens all over the world, not only to make delicious cakes but also for brewing great coffee or simply to weight the ingredients for a perfect salad. For these reasons, we decided to bring you the Skale smart scale review.
Skale is a smart Bluetooth scale design for everyday use, that promises to bring something new to the market. At first glance, this unit looks like a regular digital scale, but after you pare it with 1 of the 3 apps, you will know there is something different under the hood.
The world is getting smarter every day, so it is normal that our kitchen equipment follows this trend. Skale is a reflection of this change, due to its three different apps you are able to use this equipment for various purposes. From using it as a regular kitchen scale to brewing the perfect cup of coffee.
Besides all the apps, that we’ll talk in the next section, there are other characteristics that we really like on this scale. One of the things that surprise us most, is the fast response time. From all the scales we have the opportunity to review, this one has without any doubt the fastest response time. This may not seem a big deal, but it really affects positively the overall user experience.
Another nice feature of this scale is the fact that it starts counting after you add you first 0.1 g. In addition to this being a feature that few scales on the market have, this makes it more accurate than most units. Putting aside the apps, we really like this scale, it has a great user experience, with an intuitive system and super-fast response time.
But the worst part of this scale comes out when we start exploring the smart part of it, the apps.
Like the most smart products on the market, there is always an app behind the “smart” part. This unit is not an exception, in fact instead of 1 app, it has 3, Skale, Skaffee, and Drooja. Every app has different features, Skale is used as the main app, Skaffee for brewing coffee and Drooja for cooking with follow-along instruction.
These apps are what make this scale unique and special. At first, we believed that these apps would be amazing, but after the first tries, we rapidly understand that they don’t work as well as we expected. This could sound strange, but the “best feature” of this unit (the apps) is without any doubt its worts feature. Although these apps have a lot of potential, they simply don’t work. They have a huge learning curve and seem unfinished. Not to mention that some parts of the apps are in Chinese.
In the end, we find ourselves using this unit without the apps, just like a regular kitchen scale. This way, it works perfectly, but we lose the smart ability, which is the biggest selling point of this unit, and the reason for its high price.

In the last couple of months, we have been using Skale as our everyday kitchen scale. We cannot say that we do not like it, in fact, there are some features that we love, but on the other side, there are the apps that ruin the overall experience. If they worked well, and if they were adapted to the western market, we would have in our hands one of the best smart scales ever built.
Skale smart Bluetooth kitchen scale tries to bring something new to the market of digital scales. Although it has some Apps that add some versatility to this equipment, they don't work as we expect, leaving us with a bittersweet opinion about this equipment.
