In this week's lifestyle article, we decided to discover who is the Chef with the most Michelin Stars. Chefs all over the world dedicated their lives to earning these stars, in recognition of their excellence. The Michelin Start is undoubtedly the highest honor within the international culinary industry. Some people have gone as far as calling them the Oscars of the culinary world. There are thousands of starred chefs, but only a handful of them are known to run numerous restaurants that are consistently recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Until his death in 2018, Joël Robuchon was the chef with the most stars. Throughout his career, he was able to collect 32 Michelin stars over several restaurants. Due to his successful career, he was named the “chef of the century” by the prestigious Gault et Millau restaurant guide in 1990.
Alain Ducasse is now the living chef with most stars in the world. French-born, Monegasque chef Ducasse, has had a total of 19 stars in his career, and he holds 13 stars within his restaurants currently in his empire.
Considered by many to be the best chef in the world, he’s built a business empire over the years with 36 restaurants spanning across the globe, including his world-renowned flagship restaurants, Louis XV at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, both of which have three Michelin stars. Ducasse is also one of only two chefs to hold 19 Michelin stars throughout his career and the first chef to own three restaurants with three Michelin stars in three different cities at the same time. It is also the only chef who has sent his food into space. In 2015, Ducasse sent meals to astronauts orbiting Earth aboard the International Space Station.
The Monégasque chef is known for his perfectionism not only the kitchen but in every minute detail of the restaurants he owns.
