For this recipe, we like to combine our favorite peanut butter cereals with our favorite caramel candies. This perfectly balanced cereal bar combines the best of peanut butter cereals and caramel candies in just one bite.

Ingredients

110 g (3 cups) peanut butter cereals, we like to use Cap'n Crunch and Reese's Puffs
60 g (1 1/2 cups) crushed pretzel sticks
100 g (3/4 cup) chopped cocktail peanuts
265 g (9.3 ounces) Werther's Original cream candies
65 g (1/4 cup) smooth peanut butter
60 g (2 tablespoon) heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 22 by 22 cm (9-by-9-inch) baking pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl combine the cereals, pretzels, and peanuts. Cook caramels, peanut butter, and cream in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring often, until melted and smooth, 15 to 16 minutes.
  3. Pour over cereal mixture and stir until combined. Press into prepared pan. Chill until set, about 1 hour. Cut into 12 bars.
  4. Drizzle bars with melted chocolate. Let bars stand until chocolate is set, about 1 hour.
