Nowadays the multi-use cooker is one of the most popular kitchen gadgets you can have in your kitchen. A few weeks ago we review the Instant Pot Duo60 QT, but know is time to look at the 8 Qt Crock-Pot.
The Crock-pot 8 quart Multi-Use XL can cook meals at a fraction of the time that traditional cooking requires. It’s a versatile, compact appliance that lets you serve nutritious, home-cooked meals for families or parties of 10 people or more. Thanks to convenient one-touch settings for various pressure-cooked meals, you can choose to eat sooner, or you can use the slow cook setting to come back later to a delicious, hot meal. You can also steam, brown, sauté, simmer, boil, or use the manual pressure setting, making one-pot meals easier than ever.
Like the Instant Pot DUO60 7-in-1, this Crock-Pot is a multi-cooker that can pressure cook, slow cook, made rice and yogurt, steam, sauté and keep food warm. These characteristics make this equipment a faster and easier way than preparing meals on a stovetop and offer hands-off cooking that frees you to do other things.
The Crock-Pot Company has been selling slow cookers for decades, but the 8 Qt Crock-Pot is a whole new approach to the market. Giving a lot more options to cook with 12 preset cooking functions, divided into 2 categories: Traditional and Pressure. In the traditional side, you have 6 cooking functions that include Brown/Sear, Sauté, Slow Cook, Simmer, Boil and Yogurt. On the Pressure side, you have, Meat/Stew, Poultry, Beans/Chili, Soup/Broth, Rice/Grains, Dessert and Steam.
In it simplest way you have two conventional cooking modes. Slow Cook, which programs the Crock-Pot to simmer food low and slow. On the other end is the Brow/Saute mode, where it puts the Crock-Pot in “overdrive”, allowing you to sear meat and sauté vegetables for dishes without changing pots.
In opposite to the Instant Pot, the Crock-Pot doesn’t have a manual mode, even so, it lets you choose how long you want a dish to cook. You simply need to press the + or – keys when starting the program, to adjust the cooking time. All the buttons are well spaced and clearly defined, making it easy to read. To open and close the Crock-Pot you need to turn the lid clockwise and counterclockwise. The heavy-duty handle on top makes this process super easy and allow you to carry it around.
In the inside of the Crock-Pot, you will find an 8 qt non-stick cooking pot (dishwasher safe), that will be enough to feed 10 or more people. The non-stick cooking pot is a great feature because it allows us to properly cook your food preventing it to stick to the pot. This is great for making rice but also great for when it’s time to clean.
